Welty's The Shoe Bird and Other Stories
Wednesday, September 9 at 4 p.m.
The programs were open to the public and free of charge

The children's program, sponsored by Starkville Reads as part of the Welty Celebration, was supported by The Bebe Freeman Fund and a grant from the Starkville Area Arts Council. Over 50 people attended the children's program with more than 50 people also attending Wylie's storytelling at the Sportsplex the night before.

STARKVILLE READS DELIVERS WELTY'S THE SHOE BIRD TO AREA SCHOOLS AND LIBRARY

The Shoe Bird by Eudora WeltyCopies of The Shoe Bird, Eudora Welty's only children's book,are available for checkout by Starkville Reads at the Starkville Public Library, Overstreet School (3rd grade), and Starkville Academy.
